Profile
After the Wenchuan earthquake in China in 2008, Tengda went to the disaster area as a volunteer. He felt helpless to offer aid because he had no skills to do so. After he came to the U.S., he immediately enrolled in a CPR class and got an instructors license. He recognized that there are cultural differences in the way first aid is taught. So far he has taught 60 Chinese students and he is proud of the fact that all of them got their certificates. He says, “Looking at my students pass the CPR examination, obtain their jobs and participate in community service, I feel proud of them and happy also I can contribute to my community.”
