Your generosity is important!

Through the generous support of Town & Gown members, 209 UC San Diego students have received one-year  scholarships based on their status as juniors or seniors, with high financial need, high merit, and a promise to make a difference in their communities. Twenty-one additional scholars will be awarded $6,000 Town & Gown scholarships for academic year 2024-25. 

By supporting Town & Gown scholarships, you are empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and decision-makers, who will take on the challenges of the future.

There are many options for you to make a difference in the lives of these deserving UC San Diego students:

• Gifts to the Town & Gown Scholarship Fund (current-use scholarship) are pooled with donations from other members to provide $6,000 awards.
• Gifts to any of the Town & Gown Scholarship endowments become part of the “principal” which is never spent. It is invested, and the earnings each year are awarded as scholarships. Gifts to an endowment, therefore, create a perpetual legacy.

Start your perpetual legacy

Members may begin to build their own named Scholarship Endowment Fund with an initial minimum gift of $5,000.

When you establish a Named Town & Gown Scholarship—when the principal reaches $50,000—the fund has reached minimum endowment and a portion of the annual earnings is awarded to a Scholar each year, named in your honor.
