Christal Quick

A non­traditional student, Christal is married and the parent of three busy boys. The greatest hardship of her life was being homeless for over three years as a teenager, from age 16 to 19. She took a bus an hour each way to get to community college classes, and has since developed a practice as a private birth doula. She says, “Personally, my goal is to serve women, especially marginalized and low­income women, as a certified nurse midwife. I will strive to balance this rewarding work with my other love: my family. I’m thankful that my husband and my sons are so supportive and proud of me and I'm immensely grateful for the love and support I receive from my mother, without whom none of this would be possible.
