Aaron Tumamao

History/Political Science double major

Aaron Tumamao
In his junior year, Aaron awoke one morning to find he was unable to walk – frightening enough, but especially so on such a big campus! Diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and advised to leave school until his health improved, he refused to give up, and through his determination and the accommodations available to students, he continued to work in student government (he was president of Eleanor Roosevelt College). With concentrated physical therapy and proper medication he is able to maintain his active campus life, which includes tutoring and mentoring Preuss School students, and working as a teaching assistant in Education Studies. His goal is to teach K-12 education in the San Diego Unified School District.
