Scott Beale

After a 17-year battle with Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS), Scott painstakingly took control of his body and mind through a rigorous system of brain retraining and behavioral interventions that, along with his health, gave him a positive, productive life and the motivation to return to college in his late 30s. His experience sparked and fueled a passion for understanding the brain and mind, and today he is working with faculty to design a pilot study to scientifically document the effectiveness of the treatment that he had undertaken. Scott is working toward a degree in Physiology and Neuroscience with a double minor in Cognitive Science and Psychology. Next stop is a PhD in Clinical Health Psychology, with an ultimate goal of helping others with CFIDS and related conditions.
