Kim Tran

The first member of her family to attend college, she mentors incoming students on the ins and outs of the university, such as selecting classes and professors, and exploring research opportunities. In preparation for her career in Public Health, she volunteers at Palomar Medical Center, and with campus Student Health Services, where she plans wellness outreach opportunities for undergraduates. “Coming from a developing country,” she says, “I learned that education is a privilege that I cannot take for granted. Therefore, I am trying to excel in school so that I can give back to the community.”
